MC Designs & More began with two of my favorite things.
The first was glitter, I mean doesn't most great things start with glitter? I live, breathe, sleep, and most likely eat glitter. In stores, I would instantly be drawn to anything with glitter. I would reach my hand slowly to touch the glittering object (a moth to a flame type of thing) and on my hand would be glitter from said glittery object. Of course, I love glitter, but I wanted my glitter to stay on whatever pretty thing I was looking at not all over me.
I also love throwing a great party, get-together, whatever gives me an excuse to hang out with my family and friends. Funny thing is. When I was younger, I didn't know how to party. My then boyfriend (now husband) didn't really know either. Not knocking on either one of us we just weren't really good at it. It wasn't until we had 2 kids and had to learn how to make the most out of whatever babysitter time we could get that we learned how to do it right. Well, for us anyway.
With these two things in mind, one day I was trying to think of what I wanted to add to my shop. I knew I wanted event/party items, but how was I going to combine the two? So I thought back to some of the party's I've been to in the past. My 21st Birthday was one of the first to come to mind. My first legal drink was a Lemon Drop in a traditional shot glass. That's when it hit me. Shots are not a normal thing for me, (I'm more of a martini girl myself) they are saved, mostly, for something special (21st Birthdays, Birthday's in general, Bachelorette Parties, Bachelor Parties, etc.). After many trials of different methods, I was able to come up with a method that kept the glitter on the shot glass without dulling the sparkle.
All the Best-
